Saturday morning at the Boundless Congress found the New York Staff Band with some much appreciated unscheduled time.  Some bandsmen may have chosen to sleep in a little, some went for a little shopping or sight-seeing in London, and some spent the morning enjoying the Congress events at the O2 centre.  These included a world dance festival and a concert from the Melbourne Staff Band.  Many NYSB bandsmen were on hand for the afternoon’s International Staff Band concert, ready to cheer on our counterparts.

The evening session was a celebration of youth in The Salvation Army and featured testimonies from Salvationists of all ages, including four generations from one family who all testified to God’s saving grace.  It was a highlight to hear Philip Cobb, principal trumpet of the London Symphony Orchestra play Jubilance with the Chicago Staff Band.  The word of God was delivered powerfully by Captain Marion Platt from the Southern Territory.

The day ended with a late night NYSB concert featuring the London Citadel Timbrels.  This was our last public performance.  The Boundless Theatre was full of new and old friends of the NYSB.  The concert displayed some of the best features of the band; it was a fun time and Bob Jones even took his tunic off again.  We’re just glad it stops at that.  The London Citadel Timbrels were spot on and we were happy to share the hour with them.  As it was July 4, we ended the concert with a special Stars and Stripes Forever, saying “farewell” to England and the Boundless Congress 2015.
