On Sunday, the New York Staff Band had the privilege of leading morning worship at the Staines Corps outside of London. The musical ministry of the band was well received by those worshipping, however an even greater blessing for the band was listening to the glorious sound of the united voices of the congregation singing the great hymn of the church, “Holy, Holy, Holy.” Lt. Colonel Maynor followed, bringing God’s word from Psalm 23 challenging those present to trust God and to follow Him as sheep do their shepherd.

The afternoon had in store a very unique experience for the band, having been given the opportunity to play two concerts at Windsor Castle. Musical groups from outside the UK are seldom allowed to perform at the venue so it was a great honor for the band to have this opportunity, and while the Queen was in residence! There were reportedly over 2000 people that witnessed the ministry during the time the band played and there was even some time in between for members of the group to do some sightseeing around the castle.

After a wonderful dinner provided by the gracious hosts of the Staines Corps, the band led a praise concert in the style of the old Sunday Night meetings in the Salvation Army. Many who were unable to be present at the previous night’s concert made their way out to the corps for a night of praise through music. There was a time of shared testimony and devotional thought from Major Phil Ferreira. It was another wonderful day of the tour on the way to the Boundless Congress.
