Today started on a sad note as we waved our billets goodbye and steamed northwest towards Wrexham. When we arrived and prepared for our concert we stopped and took time for a devotional led by Laura Fyn. She mentioned how nice it was to have seen the band interact and minister to none other than our very bus driver. It’s a memory that she and many of the band members will keep forever.

The Wrexham corps locals were kind enough to serve us dinner at the corps. It was nice to have walked into the dinning room and see a few soldiers sitting at each table. This gave both sides no choice but to mingle and create new relationships in this international army.

Later that day we were privileged to play a concert at the William Aston Hall to a wonderful responsive crowd. Adam did a Fyn job starting “Alone Yet Not Alone” with a beautiful baritone solo around the middle of the concert. Before the intermission, Colonel Maynor announced the winner of the “lucky seat”(person with a program signed by every bandsman) and gave the winner a pair of our latest CDs. Major Ian McCredie was kind enough to give us a taste of Wales as he had “Wales Cakes” prepared for the band back stage.

It turned out to be a great day having made new friends and played a good concert to a good crowd.
