This past weekend the New York Staff Band had the wonderful opportunity of visiting Northeast Ohio for their first ministry weekend of the new season and the first weekend under the leadership of their new bandmaster, Derek Lance.

The first stop on our journey was in Akron, Ohio where the band would play at the Akron-Summit County Library Auditorium.  This particular event was set aside as a thank you to the supporters of The Salvation Army in Akron and the great work they do throughout the year.  It was a wonderfully encouraging crowd that was seemingly enjoying everything that the band did.  You could even hear members of the crowd singing along during parts of the program.

This weekend was an absolutely great start to season for the New York Staff Band.  We were met by wonderful crowds and were treated so well by our hosts during the weekend.  Special thanks to Divisional Music Director Eric Dina for his work in both arranging all the details for the weekend as well as playing with the band and leading the band chorus.

What a great start for the band… Can’t wait for our next weekend in Williamsport, PA.
