At the conclusion of the 2013-2014 season we had to say farewell to a few members of the band. Jon Quatela, who has been playing solo cornet is now a cadet for the College for Officer Training and will certainlly be missed on the front bench. Joining him at the College for Officer Training is Elisha Moretz who had been playing 2nd Baritone. Both of these players will surely be missed but are very proud that they have accepted God’s calling to full time ministry. Seth and Lili Ditmer will also be stepping away from the band as they relocate to Delaware. Seth was a valued member of the percussion section and Lili has been on the media staff taking photos. We will certainly miss both of them.
With a few people moving on from the band, we have wasted no time in filling most of these slots. Kenneth Kirby from Manchester, CT will be joining the band and will be playing 1st Cornet. Andrew Dressler from Spring Valley, NY will be joining the band on Bb Tuba. In addition to these new additions, Major A. Philip Ferreira has moved to 2nd Baritone from Bb Tuba and John Opina has been moved from 1st Cornet to Solo Cornet.
We are looking forward to this new season and enjoying the new members that we have in the band.
