The New York Staff Band has had the privilege of serving The Salvation Army for over 125 years with a unique ministry of music.  The band’s mission is three-fold:

– To bring public awareness to the work of The Salvation Army.
– To support fundraising efforts.
– To provide a model of ministry and music making.

While all three of these are very important, the central component of the ministry of the New York Staff Band is providing a of ministry and music making and now its work with young people. Young people who participate in Salvation Army music education programs have been proven to be emotionally healthier, more competent in many walks of life and are less likely to engage in risky behaviors. From simple music workshops at churches visited by the band, to the Future All Star Weekend where 60 young people are mentored by members of the band, the band’s goal is to encourage and strengthen young people, both musically and spiritually. It is the hope of the band to impact in a meaningful and positive way an emerging generation of leaders.

Today, that ministry is as vital as the day it began and you can make a personal and practical impact on its ministry by becoming an Association Member or by renewing your already existing membership. Your gift will help enhance the education scholarships that are provided to bandsmen, the Future All-Stars program and the ongoing efforts of the band.

You can see to the side all the varying levels of giving and what the benefits of this can be.  We certainly hope that you might be willing to give and support the ongoing ministry of the New York Staff Band.
